An administrator password is required to change system preferences
Changes to your system wide preferences should require an administration password. This forces extra awareness and access right checks.
How to fix it
macOS 13 -14
- Go to “System Preferences” > “Privacy & Security"
- Click on “Advanced…”
- Enable “Require an administrator password to access system-wide preferences”
- Confirm with administrator username and password.
macOS 10.11 – 12
- Go to “System Preferences” > “Security & Privacy”
- “click the lock to make changes”
- Click on “Advanced…”
- Enable “Require an administrator password to access system-wide preferences”
